i think so much guilt is just about being caught. honestly i did a lot of mischievous things i was proud of have gotten away with. i was a very precocious child and a bit of a underground baddie, but.... there is one thing that i genuinely felt bad about, or one thing that stands out. What did you do as a child that you feel guilty about even to this day?
i was probably about 10 and i was staying a week in the summer with my grandmother. she was always SO much fun, one of my favorites (after i just said i didn't have any lol) and always so much fun to visit. she owned a boutique in this little town and one day i was hanging out at it with my little cousin mark, who was about 7 i guess. i had asked her if we could go to the five & dime (that dates the TOWN not me, i think they STILL have one) and get us a blow up pool to use in one of the back rooms of her shop. she said "yes" and gave me the cash to go buy it. when we got there, my cousin mark seemed so enchanted by the comics, i used some of the money to buy him one and got a cheaper pool. when she asked where mark had gotten the comic, i lied. i felt so guilty, and i wish i would have never lied to her. why i did that i don't know. i think i just wanted mark to look up to me and felt a bit powerful with so much money to spend. sorry grandma!

What's been your worst experience at a restaurant?
- ordering something called carne asada, which turned out to be a chewy piece of meat almost impossible to cut up or chew
- choking repetitively on said meat until water would not even go down and started spewing out of my mouth
- 18 year old daughter laughing at me
- ubby saying i'm not really choking because i'm making a noise by coughing
- running back and forth to the restroom and trying to throw up, only to squeeze most of the air out of my throat, leaving everything from the clavicle up swollen, tingly and kinda blue
- ubby telling me to drink more
- spewing more water
- knowing somethings still in my throat
- having daughter and ubby tell me to chill out
- eventually having to go to the E.R, where they did emergency surgery and found a piece or two of lodged
carne asada in addition to discovering i had "feline esophagitus" which evidently means the long muscles
in my throat which are supposed to run up and down and help force food up and down, instead run circular, like rings. cats are like this. that's why, supposedly the meat got caught. - having to undergo general anesthesia and a throat tube with much soreness and pain afterwards
- having daughter and ubby laugh and say "meow" to me right after the surgery and everytime i choke thereafter
Its Breast Cancer Awareness Month. How many people do you know that have been touched by the disease?
Submitted by Karen.
... with cancer, it's hard to know where one person ends and another begins. so that question is hard.
