incredible book. up there with time travelers wife. wow. just finished reading it. if you haven't and you've thought about it, i' highly recommend it. if you haven't thought about it, maybe it's time to. that is, if you like deep, compelling, stories that touch every aspect of what we humans call life.
i came across this really cool site with great hand-made gifts from international communities that are striving to become self-sufficient. for example, the sconce in the picture is made of tiles from the fishermen that were left unemployed after the sri lankan tsunami. the prices are incredible and the products are awesome. evidently, they all come with documentation of the particular story that inspired them.
