i really wish i had the time or could get in the mood to take all the poetry i've written on here - it's really not all that much - and handwrite it in a journal or a book of it's own. i know i could do the print out thing, but it just doesn't seem as personal.
this is now on my list to do.
someday.
let's change that one tradition, eh?
example: what is wrong with this letter?

One of our driving precepts is to maximize engagement of the Aggie Network with both The Association and Texas A&M University. That is why I'm pleased to make you aware of an opportunity for learning and networking that promises to be one of the premier business events of 2008.
Texas A&M's Center for New Ventures and Entrepreneurship is hosting Envision '08 this coming April in San Antonio. The Center has designed Envision '08 as a two-day conference for businesses with vision—the kinds of companies Aggies are leading around the world.
The conference features keynote speakers such as Marcus Buckingham (author of Go Put Your Strengths to Work), Guy Kawasaki (entrepreneur, investor, author), Peter Schutz (former CEO of Porsche) and Stephen Covey (author and thought leader). Between keynotes will be workshops ranging from "Insights" by thought leaders to "How I did it workshops" led by experienced business leaders and "How to do it workshops" hosted by authors, entrepreneurs, educators and business advisers. The topics discussed will cover macro trends, funding issues, marketing and sales strategies, leadership, and productivity. Envision '08 will be a great chance to learn from and interact with the experts without leaving Texas. It will also be an opportunity to rub shoulders with like-minded business leaders from around the region to trade stories and develop valuable relationships.
You can learn more about Envision '08 from the attached brochure or by visiting www.envision08.com. The conference offers significant value, with all sessions, meals and networking events included. Because of your affiliation with The Association of Former Students, however, you qualify for a special $100 discount from the normal conference fee. To receive the discount, just enter "INVEST" as the promotional pricing code on the website and enter "AGGIES" when you are asked for a referral source.
As an Aggie, you know the value of networking. Please consider attending this important conference, and I wish you great success in 2008.
Thanks and Gig 'em,

ever since i can remember, i have been really blah and a bit depressed on new year's day. even as a young child, i found the day boring, anti-climatic, and a very dull way to start off a new year. i always wondered why everything closed on the first day of the year, which, it seemed to me, should be a day of beginnings, not a day of nothingness. it seemed like sort of an abyss between the past year and the next year. so, for 42 years, or as long as i can remember, i have dreaded new year's day.
well today, i was feeling a little blah when my bff from colorado informed me the grocery store near her was open. i became curious as to if ours were as well so i convinced my husband to take me driving around looking for open things and wow - we found them! just about everything was open - even the mall! it was like someone sent out a memo or something.
it's funny. i remember blogging about this in a somewhat complaining blog last year. what a difference a year makes! not to sound melodramatic but i've been waiting for this all my life. i can now look forward to new year's day!
yay!
it's about time. i have been paying close to $100 a month because my insurance won't cover it because the other allergy medications, namely claritin and allegra already did. problem was, zyrtec has a different chemical composition and is not the same medication as either claritin or allegra so neither of those were an option for me. benedryl was the closest cousin, but that didn't really work well either and left me irritable and mean.
now the question is... how much are they going to charge for OTC zyrtec?
